Know Where Your Lawmakers Stand on Stem Cell Research

It took about a year
before I could even think about writing this book. It was a year
of disbelief, self-pity, and self-loathing. The idea of putting
down in black and white what I had become was impossible. I
grieved as if I had lost a loved one, which indeed I did, my body and
former way of life. I wanted those reading this book to know my
family. To experience our tragedies and thus to understand what
life lessons we went through that have given us the strength to stay
the course. We are the silent, invisible minority.
Therefore, my hope was that people reading the book might understand
our pain intimately enough to have enough courage and compassion to
